Sunday, 16th: On August 18, 2018, Hester H… found BSBM’s website and requested Bible studies for two adults and four children. The first lessons from Deasia G… (age 6) arrived last week. The following was written, after this question: HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? “Yes, November 20, 2018”

          Praise God – “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.”(1 John 5:1)! Pray Deasia and family keep studying and find a Bible-teaching church too.

Monday, 17th: Israel C… completed all BSBM’s Bible courses while incarcerated. He began studying on March 6, 2009 and surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus on March 11, while doing his first two lessons. Now released and living in another state, he requested BSBM’s studies once again for himself and for his wife Tamara and daughter Tianalyn (age 7). After notifying them that their lessons were in the mail, Israel wrote: “We are going to First Baptist Church in _____, TX. We were baptized on November 18, 2018. Thank you for helping my family and I to study God’s word!”

          Praise God – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25)! Pray Israel, Tamara & Tianalyn study their lessons, share about them & pray together.

Tuesday, 18th: “Enclosed are my last two lessons of MY NEW LIFE IN CHRIST 1 and the first two of GOD’S WORD THE BIBLE. Thank you for the new course and for bringing me closer to God. I look forward to the next lessons. Sincerely, Jeremy F… (41-year-old inmate)

          Praise God – “Consequently, he does not live out his remaining time on earth for human passions, but for the will of God.”(1 Peter 4:2)! Pray Jeremy finds strength in God’s word and, in turn, daily shares His truth.

Wednesday, 19th: “Thank you for sending me the Bible course MY NEW LIFE IN CHRIST 1. I am currently incarcerated in _____ County Jail awaiting trial. I would like to ask you to pray for me and my family. My wife and children are struggling as a result of my incarceration and it’s difficult. But I have given it over to God.           Praise God – “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son,”(Colossians 1:13)! Pray Justin studies diligently and becomes a godly leader for his family.

Thursday, 20th: “Fellow Christian, I would like to enroll in your Bible studies. I am seeking knowledge of Christ and would appreciate any help you could give in my journey. Friday, 21st: “Could you please include me in your lessons? I don’t know much about the Bible and I believe the studies would help me. I found a true love for Jesus about three months ago that I had never known. I have a hunger for knowledge of His word. Thank you, Joyce O…

            Praise God – “The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks it out.”(Proverbs 18:15)! Pray Joyce sees God’s word as His love letter to her and there finds guidance to live for Him.

Saturday, 22nd: What new student Latashia C… hopes to get out of studying the Bible with BSBM: I am hoping the Bible study will get me in the habit of studying the Bible and that God will open my eyes and mind so that I can understand the message so that I can witness to others.

          Praise God – “When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies.”(Jer. 15:16)! Pray Latashia surrenders to Christ’s lordship.

Sunday, 9th: “Dear Bible Studies By Mail, First off… Thank you so much for your school and your ministry. My name is Chad R…  I am currently an inmate at ____ County Jail in Oklahoma. I have been visiting with a fellow inmate. He informed me of the classes he is taking with your school. Could you enroll me in your Bible studies? I am ready to increase my strength in my walk with Christ.”

          Praise God – “Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in Him,”(Colossians 2:6)! Pray Chad gets his first studies without any mail handling difficulties. Pray he studies and obeys.

Monday, 10th: (an e-mail) “Although I have studied God’s Word for years, may I say Bible Studies By Mail is likely the most challenging I have ever done. Thank you for taking me deeper into God’s Word. I am mailing six completed lessons tomorrow. I look forward to more. Sincerely, Charles M…

          Praise God – “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”(2 Cor. 4:18)! Pray Charles shares the gospel message with his family & friends.

Tuesday, 11th: Inmate Damien T… began BSBM’s studies in November. He shared this after doing the first lessons: “I received Christ as my Savior after getting to county jail, about 3 years ago. I got asked to come to a Bible study. I went and asked the Lord to show me He was real. And He did. He has changed my life so much since then.”

          Praise God – “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”(Isaiah 9:2)! Pray Damien reflects Christ’s Light to his fellow inmates & guards.

Wednesday, 12th: An inmate shared: “I am writing to apologize about these lessons being so late. The facility I was in was on a lockdown, so I couldn’t buy stamps. Now I’m at a much better facility with stamps and everything I need. Praise God! The lessons are truly a blessing and I look forward to continuing. I pray God blesses everything you do for your ministry. Love, Travis S…

          Praise God – “God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.”(Psalm 67:7)! Pray Travis finds other believers in his new prison setting & fellowships with them. Pray he blesses whoever he meets.

Thursday, 13th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS LESSON? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student inmate Samuel W… (age 54) wrote: “Repent, Jesus is the door to eternal life. Yes. 11/24/18” (his first Bible lessons were sent on 11-14-18)

            Praise God – “He opened for us a new way, a living way, through the curtain–that is, through His own body.” (Hebrews 10:20)! Pray Samuel trusts & obeys the Lord without doubt or fear, knowing Jesus saved him.

Friday, 14th: “Hola, Mi nombre es [Hi, My name is] Julio M…  I would like to have biblical studies by mail in Spanish. I am new at this. I’ve been incarcerated for a year. The punishment I got put me in solitary confinement. I was given a Bible in there and I found God. My Savior removed the blindness from my eyes and now I want to learn more about my God and my Savior.”

            Praise God – “You will open the eyes of the blind and set free those who sit in dark prisons.”(Isaiah 42:7)! Pray Julio received his studies from BSBM. Pray he studies diligently and lives deliberately for Christ.

Saturday, 15th: Gina J… completed book 3, lessons 15 – 21, of KNOW & GROW course. She shared: “Thank you again for offering these lessons and for blessing me and numerous others! I thoroughly enjoyed these lessons! These have been more challenging for me, because a lot of it I did not know. I look forward to the next course.”

          Praise God – “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.”(1 Cor. 16:13-14)! Pray Gina boldly lives out her faith and her love for Jesus, wherever He daily leads her.

Sunday, 2nd: Norman P… requested Bible studies using BSBM’s website on October 26th at 12:53 PM. When asked what he wanted to learn from God studying the Bible, Norman wrote: “To gain more knowledge of scripture and get closer to God.” His first 2 completed Bible study sheets just arrived with this note: “Dear friend in Jesus, I am open to all scripture reasoning, but not assumption of eternity in Hell. There will be no eternity in Hell. The Lake of Fire is only until all that can be consumed is burnt, everyone and everything. Please respond with full scripture about an eternity in Hell. Thank you, very much kind friend, in Jesus.” (3 scripture laden documents were sent with his next lessons.)

          Praise God – “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”(Matthew 25:46)! Pray Norman gains knowledge of Scripture by studying his lessons with his Bible in hand.

Monday, 3rd: “Hello, My name is Anthony M…, and I received the Bible study from you. Thank you. I would like to know; do you have some studies for people that are more advanced? I would also like to know; can you send a friend of mine the Bible study you just sent me? He is a baby in Christ, just got saved about a month ago. His name is Jason H… #____ … New York” (both inmates)

          Praise God – “Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.”(1 Thessalonians 5:11)! Pray Anthony & Jason study diligently with intent to grow strong in their faith & to share Christ.

Tuesday, 4th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS LESSON? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student Velma M… (age 55) wrote: “I am saved by having faith in the Lord Jesus. Yes. Back in 1989. Then I backslid a few times. Now I’m trying to get it together again.”

          Praise God – “O my strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.”(Psalm 59:17)! Pray Velma finds a local Bible-teaching church & makes godly friendships.

Wednesday, 5th: “My name is Ralph H… and I was wondering if I could please do the Bible studies by mail. Also, maybe you would have a mentor, or someone to write me. I don’t really have nobody to write. Looking forward to grow in Christ.” (a personal letter was sent along with his first Bible studies.)

          Praise God – “Remember those in prison as if you were bound with them, and those who are mistreated as if you were suffering with them.”(Hebrews 13:3)! Pray Ralph does his studies, writes & finds a Christian inmate.

Thursday, 6th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS LESSON? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student Patrick B… (age 13) wrote: “That only through Jesus can I become a child of God. Yes. November 21, 2018.” (lessons sent 11/15/18)

            Praise God – “For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”(Galatians 3:26)! Pray Patrick keeps doing his studies, breaks ties with ungodly friendships & gets plugged into a good youth group.

Friday, 7th: “My name is Daniel V…  I have been in jail for 5 ½ years. I am fighting 2 life terms. I would like to enroll in your Bible course. I have seen your course and I would like to turn my life around with your help. Thank you kindly.”

            Praise God – “Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD.”(Lamentations 3:40)! Pray Daniel surrenders his life into God’s hands while studying, that he repents and believes in the gospel.

Saturday, 8th: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ministry work and to let you know that I very much appreciate you sending me the Bible studies your program provides to inmates. Sunday, 25th: “Dear Bible studies by mail, My name is Manuel M… CDC# BH0690 and I’m currently serving a 7 year sentence at _____ State Prison. A friend of mine is helping me write this letter because I can only read, write and speak in Spanish. However, I am highly interested in your Bible study program and would like to become a member. If you could please send me Bible studies in Spanish and any other Christian literature provided for inmates, it would be much appreciated.”

          Praise God – “Little children, let us love not in word and speech, but in action and truth.”(1 John 3:18)! Pray Manuel gets his lessons without difficulties and pray he signs up more Spanish speaking inmates.

Monday, 26th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Jeremy W… wrote this on November 15th at 10:10 AM: “The truth of it all, without persecution or judgement, so that I may feel complete.”

          Praise God – “For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?”(I Peter 4:17)! Pray Jeremy reads, studies and meditates.

Tuesday, 27th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Patricia C… wrote this on November 1th at 5:40 PM: “How to engage the people that I help who are challenged and how to have home Bible studies.” (She also requested studies for her son Jason T… who is an inmate.)

          Praise God – “For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the rock except our God?”(Psalm 18:31)! Pray Patricia and Jason personally take God’s teaching to heart, prior to engaging and sharing with others.

Wednesday, 28th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Michelle B…  wrote this on November 16th at 8:22 PM: “Anything and everything about my Father and the way I should live my life for Him as a pleasing sacrifice.”

          Praise God – “The LORD God has told us what is right and what He demands: “See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God.””(Micah 6:8)! Pray Michelle lives submissively to God.

Thursday, 29th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful mother of 4 new students, Stephanie S…, wrote this on November 17th at 10:21 AM: “How to be closer to God and how to follow Him in a cruel world.” (her children’s ages are 13, 10, 4 and 3)

            Praise God – “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”(Psalm 92:12)! Pray Stephanie & her 4 kids personally understand God’s word and grow in accordance as He leads.

Friday, 30th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Carol B… wrote this on November 18th at 9:30 PM: “How to get closer to God and understand what He is saying. Please send me children’s lessons. I don’t understand any higher. I want to work up to adult level.” (she also requested studies for Austin P…, age 12)

            Praise God – “The goal of our instruction is the love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a sincere faith.”(1 Timothy 1:5)! Pray Carol and Austin study their personal lessons & share what God says.

Saturday, 1st: New student hopeful Clarence H… (age 63) phoned on November 19th and asked for Bible studies for himself. In phone conversation he shared: “I would like to study the Bible and be refreshed in God’s word, so I can share the gospel with people.”

          Praise God – “You have armed me with strength for battle; You have subdued my foes beneath me.”(Psalm 18:39)! Pray Clarence faithfully studies & shares the gospel and depends on God for souls to be won.

Sunday, 18th: “Thank you again for another lesson. I enjoyed it. I always try to use the stuff I learn out of these lessons and apply it to my life and share it with other people. God is so good. We are such lucky people to be able to serve such a powerful God. He is my best friend. And the victory of death that we also can defeat. Yes. Right now, July 12, 2018.” (4 months and 1 week ago)

          Praise God – “our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel”(2 Timothy 1:10b)! Pray Timothy keeps studying the Bible lessons and starts memorizing verses.

Tuesday, 20th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Abigail H… (age 17) wrote this on November 12th at 4:41 PM: “I would like to become more biblically educated. I want to be able to help others with my knowledge. I hope this would make me a better soul winner.”

          Praise God – “But those who do what is right come to the Light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”(John 3:21)! Pray Abigail prays fervently & studies diligently, personally obeying God’s word.

          Praise God – “For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.”(Romans 3:28)! Pray Melissa rereads and restudies her completed 2 lessons, while waiting for the next 4 lessons to do.

Thursday, 22nd: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Janice G… wrote this on November 14th at 1:01 PM: To learn more about the Bible and do street ministry.

            Praise God – “”Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed Him.” (Matthew 9:9b)! Pray Janice studies the first 20 lessons & becomes overwhelmed by Christ’s love for her.

Friday, 23rd: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE YOU LEARNED IN THIS LESSON? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student inmate James C… (age 45) wrote: “God is great, he sacrificed his only son… Yes. While reading this study.” (lessons sent 10/24/18)

            Praise God – “For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods.”(Psalm 95:3)! Pray James finds quiet space to study, pray and memorize Bible verses. Pray he finds other inmates who truly believe.

Saturday, 24th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Yolanda R… wrote this on November 15th at 7:29 AM: I would love to learn His word to become closer to Him. Can you please send two lessons because my husband Don would also like to learn with me?”

          Praise God – “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”(James 7:8)! Pray Yolanda & Don study God’s word and follow His teaching.

Tuesday, 13th: “I have lost my question pages for lessons 15 thru 18. Please send me another copy. In the process of moving they were displaced. I was evicted from my apartment for complaining of black mold in 4 rooms and sewage seepage coming in. I have been in my new apartment since September 30. Yesterday my car’s transmission seized up. I am on a disability income for myself and my son who is 33 years old and has multiple health challenges. I know God is in control, but I feel like I’m hanging on by my fingernails.           Praise God – “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”(John 3:17)! Pray Frankie finds personal space to study his Bible & four new lessons and to pray.

Friday, 16th: “Please send me Bible studies pertaining to spiritual warfare. I have been battling many trials and temptations. Please help me in my walk with God. Armand B… (He is an inmate.)

            Praise God – “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army, for the battle does not belong to you, but to God.”(2 Chronicles 20:15b)! Pray Armand gets his study materials without prison mail restrictions.

Saturday, 17th: At 8:30 AM, on November 8th, Misael and Rachel M… requested Bible studies in Spanish and English respectively. What do they hope to learn from God studying His word? “We hope to get and keep our lives on the right path and to teach anybody who wants to know God.”

          Praise God – “The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!””(Luke 17:5)! Pray Misael and Rachel do their studies apart & then share together what God is teaching them. Pray faith-footprints are taken.

Sunday, 4th: “I would like to thank you all at Bible Studies By Mail because when I get my study material it takes me away from this prison for a while. I would like to ask you to pray for a few things – forgiveness, faith, a short sentence, my pastor, my family and my daughter. In 22 months, I’ve lost my job, my wife, my house and my car. I pleaded guilty to my crimes and I begged for forgiveness from my friends, family and Christ. My stepmom of 35 years disowned me too as well as my 34-year-old brother. Monday, 5th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Tamika C… wrote this on October 24th at 9:10 AM: “I want to learn about God and the way to live life the way God intended for me to live in order to make it into heaven.”

          Praise God“Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”(Matt. 18:3)! Pray Tamika studies and repents, believing in the gospel.

          Praise God – “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.” (Rom. 10:17)! Pray Verna studies her next 4 lessons and returns their worksheets.

Thursday, 8th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Will P… wrote this on October 29th at 8:58 AM: “I want to use the studies to help young adults at a church I attend.”

            Praise God – “Let no one despise your youth, but be a pattern for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”(1 Tim. 4:12)! Pray Will humbly requests permission to teach them and so gains their favor.

Friday, 9th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD?  Hopeful new student Patricia H… wrote this on October 24th at 12:56 PM: “I want to learn more about His way and what all He has done for me and make sure I’m doing His will.”

          Praise God – “Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”(Heb. 12:3)! Pray Kasey and Kevin grow strong in faith and leave Jesus’ footprints all over jail.

Monday, 29th: Using BSBM’s website, Peter F… preregistered for Bible studies by mail on October 21, 2018 at 12:22 AM. When asked WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD STUDYING THE BIBLE?  Peter wrote: “A spark from God. I am backslidden. I want to follow Him again.”

Tuesday, 30th: Inmate Rece K… wrote: “Peace is one thing that is most meaningful to me from this lesson. To know that we can have peace, even in the midst of our troubles, is a great feeling. And I have personally experienced it. Another thing I liked that was mentioned in lesson 8 was the importance of prayer. Personally, it is when I pray and after I have prayed, about whatever may be bothering me or on my heart, that I can feel the assurance of God telling me ‘He has me’. (she is 23)

Even though I am a Catholic, it helps me understand the word of God better. I am having trouble communicating with God.           Praise God – “Even when I cry out and plead for help, He shuts out my prayer.”(Lamentations 3:8)! Pray Thomas allows God’s word to cleanse his mind and soul. Pray he repents and believes in the gospel.

Tuesday, 23rd: “Hello, my name is Eric D… and I am an inmate. I got your address from a pamphlet HOOKED ON DRUGS, HEALED BY JESUS in the chapel. I would like to enroll in your Bible studies by mail. Please pray for my children, my mother and my wife.”

          Praise God – “Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.”(Romans 12:9)! Pray Eric truly repents of his past dark-dealings and proves the sincerity of his family love by living uprightly.

          Praise God – “I have planted; Apollos watered; but God has given the increase.”(1 Corinthians 3:6)! Pray Hollis does not hide her gospel-light. Pray she studies with the intent of helping others get saved.
