“Though the LORD is on high, He attends to the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.” Psalm 138:6
Sunday, 11th: Inmate Alfred H… began to study on January 4, 2024. In 16 months, he has signed up 24 other inmates. Last week, he wrote asking us to mail studies to his mother Linda and sister Kimberley. He also shared what he had learned in his last lessons: “God is the Creator of all things, and He should be worshipped for He alone is worthy of all our worship, reverence, love and obedience.” (He is 53 years old.) Praise God – “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:29)! Pray Alfred keeps his eyes fixed on Jesus and God’s word.
Monday, 12th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Norma P… (age 40) wrote: “[Yo he pecado] I have sinned and yet Dios loves me and sent Jesús to die for me so that by faith in Cristo I may receive eternal life. Yes, on April 8, 2025.” (Norma’s first study was mailed to her on March 13, 2025.) Praise God – “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God,” (Ephesians 2:8)! Pray Norma keeps studying, finds a Bible-teaching church and shares her faith.
Tuesday, 13th: “4-24-25 Dear Friends, I am interested in learning more about the Bible. I was recently informed by a friend that you offer courses and materials pertinent to Christian studies. I would definitely like to begin taking courses you have to offer. Thank you, Armondo B…” (He is incarcerated in Michigan.) Praise God – “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.” (Ephesians 2:10)! Pray Armondo studies and shares God’s word in jail.
Wednesday, 14th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Inmate Angelina G… (age 29) wrote: “There is a planned reason for everything that happens. I need to fully believe this and give my life to God and truly let Jesus into my heart. I have tried and even today I feel there is something holding me back. I say the words but don’t truly believe them.” (This first study was sent to another inmate, but Angelina did it!) Praise God – “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” (2 Corinthians 7:10)! Pray Angelina truly confesses her sin, repents of it and trusts in Christ alone.
Thursday, 15th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On May 5 at 11:02 AM, hopeful new student Abby B… emailed: “We need to know what to study to find hope, to have faith and deal with the daily struggles, and to know God’s way.” (Studies were sent 5/8/25.) Praise God – “The Law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making wise the simple.” (Psalm 19:7)! Pray Abby studies her lessons with her Bible and lives it out by faith.
Friday, 16th: WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THESE LESSONS? Seventy-year-old inmate Romer R… shared: “[Que Jesucristo es mi Salvador] That Jesus Christ is my Savior. He is the Great Mediator. The Lord Jesus prays for me. Christ restored my broken communion with God. That Jesus will return again for us the believers. Those of us who have served the Lord Jesus faithfully will receive wonderful rewards. In the New Jerusalem there will be no sickness, no pain, no sadness, no death.” (Romer says he has been a believer for 58 years, since the age of 12.) Praise God – “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,” (1 Timothy 2:5)! Pray Romer shares the good news of Cristo with fellow inmates and studies with them.
