September 18 – 24

“Carrying His own cross, He went out to The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha. There they crucified Him, and with Him two others, one on each side, with Jesus in the middle.” John 19:17-18

Sunday, 18th: An inmate student penned this on September 2nd: “I am trying to turn my life around. I am a recovering addict, Ashema W… is a shopaholic, our daughters, Jayden and Jazmyn, are afflicted with depression and anxiety. Our son Josiah is a loner. He never brings any of his friends home. I am worried as ever since I am in jail and cannot provide. I ask that you pray for our family, that we can recover from our addictions and afflictions, that we all be brought closer by the love and healing of God’s grace, that together we become more loving and helpful. Thank you so much, Jerome D…” (Ashema signed him up for studies 08-25-2022.) Praise God – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;” (Prov. 3:5)! Pray Jerome and all his family turn their lives around by repenting and believing in the gospel of Christ.

Monday, 19th: “My name is Ethan L… I am in S__ County Jail. I would like to do the Bible Studies Course. Can you please mail me the study? P.S. I also ask for your prayers for my kids that just started school again but did not want to because of the recent school shootings. Their names are Kaysen L… and Parker L… I appreciate your time in this matter. Thank you.” (09/12/22 – the day his letter arrived & his study was mailed.) Praise God – “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.” (Col. 3:20)! Pray Ethan does his study & follows the Spirit’s prompting; pray he sends his kids’ ages & address for studies.

Tuesday, 20th: Inmate student Kelsey C… (age 31) shared: “In this lesson, I learned to give my all to God, sacrifice all, all my feelings and possessions… To spread the word!! To share the love of Christ with others. To spend time with God. Please pray for me! My trial is coming up in October. This tragic fatal accident is all a misunderstanding. I lost someone I love very much.” Praise God – “Rest in God alone, O my soul, for my hope comes from Him.” (Psa. 62:5)! Pray Kelsey is strengthened by the Lord throughout her trial; pray she gives truthful testimony; pray she keeps on studying.

Wednesday, 21st: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On September 11, at 12:38 AM, new student hopeful Shelley M… e-mailed: I would like to help others come to Jesus, but I am unsure how to go about it… I really need to know the Bible completely. (1st study mailed on 9/15/22.) Praise God – “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” (Col. 4:6)! Pray Shelley studies course #1 diligently and intentionally invites others to study.

Thursday, 22nd: Final responses of new student inmate Jay E… (age 31): 1-WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED? “That all sins can be forgiven.” 2-HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? “Yes.” 3-WHEN? “Today, 9/12/22.” (Jay wrote to B.S.B.M. requesting studies; mailed on 08/25/22.) Praise God“And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:27)! Pray Jay shares his faith fearlessly; cuts his social time with old friends; finds fellowship with believers.

Friday, 23rd: Penned 9/5/22 by an inmate: Pray my mother’s health improves… pray I keep safe while in this ugly place and for me to continue to follow His righteous path… pray my 2 sisters and 1 brother keep safe and for them to speak to me again, for they haven’t since 2005. Your brother in Christ and friend, Arlie R…” Praise God – “But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” (Jas. 1:6)! Pray Arlie shares his faith boldly; pray for his mom and siblings.

Saturday, 24th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On September 13, at 1:30 AM, new student hopeful Debbie K… e-mailed: How to be a working light for God to others. (1st study mailed on 9/15/22.) Praise God – “The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday.” (Prov. 4:18)! Pray Debbie studies course #1 & follows the Spirit’s lead into God’s harvest field.
