January 16 – 22

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”” Romans 1:17

Sunday, 16th: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN? New student Kevon L… (age 19) wrote: “I have sinned yet God loves me and Christ died to save me. Yes, on December 6, 2021.” (1st study sent 8/27/20; returned 1/8/22.) Praise God – “God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:21)! Pray Kevon studies diligently & lives intentionally for Christ.

Monday, 17th: Judith R… began studying two years ago. On January 7, 2022, she sent her question pages via email for grading purposes. She added this comment: “These lessons were difficult for me personally. But the Lord knows what I need and when I need it. Thank you.” (Her last lesson topics: Dealing with Anger, Reaction and Resentment, Turning from Bitterness to Forgiveness, Building Right Relationships and Love One Another.) Praise God – “Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had on you?” (Matthew 18:33)! Pray Judith continues to faithfully follow Christ’s example & teaching; pray she is filled with Jesus’ joy.

Tuesday, 18th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On January 8, 2022 at 1:40 AM, new student hopeful Lauren S… e-mailed: “I hope to learn. I want to rekindle my relationship with God. I have not been religious since my father died when I was thirteen. I don’t have family or friends that practice any religion.” (She asked prayer for her husband and studies for two children, ages 4 & 6.) Praise God – “This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.” (John 15:8)! Pray Lauren sees the truth, repents & believes in the gospel and lives trusting in Jesus.

Wednesday, 19th: During B.S.B.M.’s Christmastime break, over 180 emails landed in our Inbox requesting Bible studies by mail. One came from a mom, Michelle E…, requesting studies for her incarcerated son, Wesley B…  She wrote: “I would like to do the same study as Wesley. I hate that he is incarcerated but since he got there he got saved.” (Studies were sent to Wesley, on January 5, 2022, and to Michelle a few days later.) Praise God – “But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” (Heb. 3:13)! Pray Michelle & Wesley take God’s word to heart & live for Him.

Thursday, 20th: April R… found B.S.B.M.’s website and requested studies in mid-November 2021. On January 11, 2022, she emailed B.S.B.M. her study worksheets for grading and she wrote: “I appreciate that you put the gospel in each lesson! That is wonderful! Here are lessons 7-10.” (She is halfway through course #1.) Praise God – “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Gen. 3:15)! Pray April shares the gospel fearlessly.

Friday, 21st: “Hi there, my name is Cynthia R…  I would like for everyone to keep me and my family in your prayers. Thank you, Jesus, that I am out of jail, but I got 5 years of probation. I am having a very hard time. I’m wanting to go my own way which is why I need my Lord and Savior to guide me in the right direction.” (Released in May 2021; she has kept studying; mailed new lessons & additional counsel 1-11-22.) Praise God – “As for the deeds of men—by the word of Your lips I have avoided the ways of the violent.” (Psalm 17:4)! Pray Cynthia finds a Bible-teaching church and a mentor; pray she avoids the ungodly.

Saturday, 22nd: Inmate Michael H… was signed up by his sister Stephanie for Bible studies, in November 2020. Michael recently shared what he had learned: “That no matter our past and our sins, if we just believe and have faith God will forgive us because He loves us that much. He willingly gave the ultimate sacrifice of His Son, so we can be forgiven and given the opportunity to go to Heaven. I’m 41 years old and a brand-new believer. God has opened up a whole new world to me. Thank you for helping me grow in Christ. Love, Mike” Praise God – “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (Jn. 3:16)! Pray Michael shares God’s truth with others.
