January 15 – 21

“Ears that hear and eyes that see—the LORD has made them both.” Proverbs 20:12

Sunday, 15th: Penned by student Lyman C… on 12-26-22: “It’s been nearly a year that the Lord came into my heart. I’ve rejected the doctrines and teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I bought a King James version of the Bible and truly read it and studied it for its true meaning. I attend a Bible believing Christ centered church. I have gained some friends. And I can say that Bible Studies By Mail workers are friends also. Even though I was ex-communicated by the JW’s, I know the Lord loved me enough to guide me where I needed to be. Thank you so much for helping me find my pathway to truth. I celebrated Christmas for the first time the way it was intended to be celebrated, that is for the birth of Christ.” (After watching an Easter TV program last year, he requested BSBM’s studies, on 5/6/22. He was born again on 5/12/22 while doing study #1. PTL!!!) Praise God – “Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen.” (Isaiah 32:3)! Pray Lyman continues to attend church, study his Bible & share his faith with JWers.

Monday, 16th: “Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, my name is Clark G… and I am writing to tell you I appreciate the studies and I am learning a lot. I ask you to pray for my family and for all the people locked up and their families.” (Clark is locked up too.) Praise God – “Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; even today I declare that I will restore to you double.” (Zachariah 9:12)! Pray Clark writes to a nearby church we suggested & gets a visit from a Pastor.

Tuesday, 17th: Penned December 31, 2022: “To My Family at BSBM, I might be going to court sometime next year. Please pray that God be merciful and that He gives me the strength to do as the judge wishes. Your brother in Christ, Fernando M…” Praise God – “The LORD gives His people strength; the LORD blesses His people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)! Pray Fernando turns away from ungodly influence behind bars and starts each day worshipping God.

Wednesday, 18th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Inmate Anthony T… (age 34) wrote: “That God loves us so much. We are saved by what He has done for us through Jesus His Son. Yes, today, 12-27-22” (His first study was mailed on 12-5-22) Praise God – “He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.” (Titus 3:5)! Pray Anthony memorizes verses.

Thursday, 19th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS LESSON? Inmate Clifton H… wrote: “If a man has truly repented of his sins and has been born again, there will be a change in his life.” Praise God – “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” (James 2:26)! Pray Clifton shares the teaching from lessons with other inmates; pray others request studies through him.

Friday, 20th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On January 3, at 3:14 PM, new student hopeful Jessica G… e-mailed: “I hope to see myself as He sees me and to be able to stand strong in the Word.” (Her first study was mailed on January 12.) Praise God – “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2)! Pray Jessica studies diligently.

Saturday, 21st: Last week Tiffany A… wrote: “I have two children, my daughter Tara A… age 36 and my son Rashaad A… age 29. He recently moved to her place to start a brand-new life. I thought your studies would bless them. Their address is… South Carolina” (Tiffany has studied regularly since September 15, 2021.) Praise God – “With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation,” (Isaiah 12:3)! Pray Tiffany, Tara and Rashaad study together, share their hearts, pray for each other and find a Bible teaching church.
