January 10 – 16

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Sunday, 10th: “Estoy muy agradecido [I am very grateful] for the Bible studies you send me. On January 25th I’ll complete one year in jail for not having legal papers. Every day we get together and share at 6PM. There are four of us some days, today I’m alone. Guatemala is my country and during my youth I fought in the war. But with God my spirit is free. Pedro V… (age 50)

Praise God – “But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,” (Philippians 3:20)! Pray Pedro finds daily strength in God’s word and follows Christ w/o hesitation.

Monday, 11th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On January 5 at 5:13 PM, new student hopeful Kayla S… e-mailed: “I wish to learn more about Him, Jesus, and the Gospel. I want to get closer to Him, and hear His voice. I want to learn how to renew my mind, and take every thought captive. I also want to learn what He wants me to do. I want to live a life that’s pleasing to Him. I struggle with depression, anxiety, and a bit of OCD, especially intrusive thoughts. Thoughts not wanted, but they come anyway, kind of like pop up ads or spam mail.”

Praise God – “You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)! Pray Kayla reads and rereads the Bible verses in her lessons; pray she hides them in her heart.

Tuesday, 12th: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student Leah C… (age 44) wrote: “Who Jesus is and who he is to me. Yes, now, January 5, 2021.” (Her first lessons were mailed 6 months ago.)

Praise God – “Although God overlooked the ignorance of earlier times, He now commands all people everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30)! Pray Leah obeys the Spirit’s voice by repenting & believing the gospel.

Wednesday, 13th: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student Sage M… (age 25) wrote: “I have learned that I want to receive Jesus in my heart and serve him until I die. Yes, today, 12/18/2020.”

Praise God – “My salvation and my honor rest on God, my strong rock; my refuge is in God.” (Psalm 62:7)! Pray Sage and her 4- and 5-year-olds study their lessons together and find a Bible-teaching church.

Thursday, 14h: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On January 5 at 8:53 AM, new student hopeful Charlotte T… (age 16) e-mailed: “I want to have a better understanding of all God has done for me and the lengths He has gone so I can have everlasting life. Through the study of His word, I want to know what my purpose is.”

Praise God – “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)! Pray Charlotte studies and obeys.

Friday, 15th: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student inmate Raymond S… (age 23) wrote: “I gave myself to the Lord a year ago, but I fell off from reading his word and I found myself filled with hate and negativity. I am learning to love more instead of hate. Pray I stay right with him and with others.”

Praise God – “So know in your heart that just as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.” (Deuteronomy 8:5)! Pray Raymond starts each day on his knees in prayer asking God for guidance.

Saturday, 16th: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN?  New student inmate Jeremiah H… wrote: “I learned who God is and how to accept him as my heavenly father. Yes, 12-25-2020.”

Praise God – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom 6:23)! Pray Jeremiah shares Bible verses with others, rereads completed lessons & memorizes verses.
