August 14th – 20th

August 14th – 20th

“You are to have put off, concerning the former way of life, the old man, which is being corrupted according to its desires of deceit, and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and to have put on the new man, having been created according to God in righteousness and holiness of truth.” Ephesians 4:22-24

Sunday, 14th: “I fell into a deep pit of depression and have managed to return. Prayer has always been one of my weaknesses. I become tongue tied and sometimes even confused about the meanings of words. Whether they are spoken or thought they tend to evade me. I find myself asleep sometimes before I even manage to say amen. The church has become a location or a homebase in my dreams – even in my nightmares.  I’ve never dreamt such diabolical twisted things before. Ashley L…” (Extra Bible reading sent with her next lessons.) Praise God – “Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him—in keeping with the truth that is in Jesus” (Eph. 4:21)! Pray Ashley keeps studying with these inmates she enrolled: Carrie, Savannah & Katherine.

Monday, 15th: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LORD JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR? and WHEN? New student inmate Jody K… (age 44) wrote: “We are saved by what God has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ. And we must believe in Him. Yes, on 7/31/22. Thank you for sending me your Bible study. I’ll be at this address till about the end of the year if not longer fighting my case.” Praise God – “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will do it.” (Psalm 37:5)! Pray Jody keeps studying all the lessons mailed to him; pray he surrenders his future days to God, trusting Christ alone.

Tuesday, 16th: “Our former pastor was promoted to Heaven and my husband doesn’t like the way this pastor is preaching. He is always asking for money. Pray we find another home Bible believing church where we can fellowship in person. God has used my broken past to encourage others. He has given me boldness in Christ. He is faithful. His word is true. Thanks again for this Bible study. I always enjoy growing in the Lord. Janie H…” Praise God – “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” (Ephesians 5:21)! Pray Janie and her hubby find a Bible-teaching church; pray they encourage family and friends to study Bible lessons too.

Wednesday, 17th: Inmate Jason H… returned his first study’s worksheets on 8-9-22. He shared: “A year ago, I received the Lord Jesus as my Savior. My life is saved through Jesus Christ and no matter what I am going to Heaven because I gave my life to Jesus as my Savior. It’s been a struggle. I won’t lie about that. I have had plenty of ups and downs. I got your Bible study address from a guard and I share my cellmate’s Bible.” Praise God – “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Rom. 8:37)! Pray Jason asks that guard if he could help him get his own Bible; pray the guard contacts a local Pastor.

Thursday, 18th: Inmate student Juana A… wrote: “[Quisiera pedirles] I would like to ask you to send Bible studies to my son who is incarcerated. Erik V… #___ Texas” (Juana, age 43, is a 2-year-old in Christ.) Praise God – “What shall I say, O my son? What, O son of my womb? What, O son of my vows?” (Proverbs 31:2)! Pray Erik & Juana diligently study their Bible lessons & share personal things through letters.

Friday, 19th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On August 3, at 3:11 PM, new student hopeful Danielle W… e-mailed: “I’m just now trying to get right with the Lord. My life is a chaotic mess right now. I’m a former prostitute and I’m having trouble leaving the lifestyle. I lie, cheat and steal from people. And I can’t stop doing it.” Praise God – “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Cor. 15:57)! Pray Danielle studies the first booklet; pray she repents and believes in the gospel; pray she finds help.

Saturday, 20th: “I am writing in hopes of receiving Bible study materials. Mrs. Wanda told me about your ministry. I have my Bible but I find it hard to follow without study guides. Charlsey W…” (She is in jail.) Praise God – “Remember those in prison as if you were bound with them, and those who are mistreated as if you were suffering with them.” (Heb. 13:3)! Pray Charlsey receives and does her first studies.
