Sunday, 5th: New student Leonardo… wrote: “I am very happy you sent me the first study. I am originally from Puebla, México and I’ve been incarcerated for 15 months. This month I go to court for my sentencing and I may be moved to another prison. I would like to receive more studies wherever they move me and I have your address. I like the form of this study because each verse is explained and the passages are put into topics. Don’t send more studies to this address, because I may not be here.” (In closing, he gave us his family’s address and the names of his wife and four daughters.)

            Praise God – He desires everyone knows where they’re going after their earth-time! Pray Leonard and his family spend time reading and studying God’s Map to Heaven, the Bible.

Monday, 6th: Inmate Alverado… filled a page sharing his testimony: “The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God. His purpose in coming to earth was to suffer and die on the cross. He shed His blood to pay the ultimate price, so that we could be cleansed of our sins. He paid the price for us, because of His great love for us. I belong to Him and only Him. I serve Him and only Him. He dwells in me and I in Him for eternity, because I believe in Him and have received Him as my Savior. He is my Lord.”

            Praise God – He did it all, because we couldn’t do anything to save our souls! Pray Alverado spends time in God’s word each day and pray he shares the message of God’s salvation with others.

Tuesday, 7th: Angel’s SEE & DO I lessons were returned for grading last week. At the end of lesson 5, Angel was asked: ‘Have you asked the Lord Jesus to come into your heart?’ and ‘When?’ Here are the two given answers: “Yes.” and “August 28, 2010.” (His parents are new believers since April 2010.)

            Praise God – His Family is expanding! Pray 6 year old Angel and his Dad & Mom continue to do their Bible lessons together, throughout the week, and to attend their church meetings.

Wednesday, 8th: “The reason I am writing is I want to know if I can enroll in your Bible studies. I am currently incarcerated and I ask for your prayers. I believe in God. I just saw the legal officer and only God can give me my freedom. I thank all of you for helping the lost. I love you in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Juan…

            Praise God – The peace He gives is lasting, it’s not like the peace man gives! Pray Juan keeps focused on his Bible studies and on living out God’s purpose for his life where he’s at today.

Thursday, 9th: On August 20th, inmate Shawn… shared his testimony when asked to do so: “How I truly came to know the Lord. I was in a motorcycle accident in 2008 and almost died. I knew I had to change. I sincerely prayed to the Father, please forgive me. I meant this one 100%. I knew I was a sinner. I have been different since that day and truly can’t stop talking about the Lord.”

            Praise God – He knows the intent of one’s prayer before the supplication is formed! Pray Shawn grows strong in his walk and talk as a believer, giving daily time to study and prayer.

Friday, 10th: “These lessons are great. I read them over again after I take the test. On this new series, I like the Quiet Time Part. It’s a neat way of studying the word. Robert… (He is an inmate.)

            Praise God – He has a purpose for everyone, wherever they are, when they repent and believe. Pray Robert starts each day on his knees, surrendering his new day’s activities to the Lord.

Saturday, 11th: A letter from a California inmate reads: “My name is Shelly… and I just asked God back into my heart. I have been reading my Bible. I want to learn about Jesus and how I can live my life like God wants me to. I am tired of my old life. Can I please have a Bible study?”

            Praise God – He has a FREE offer extended to whosoever believeth, New Life in Christ! Pray Shelly’s faith grows, as she studies. Pray she sees God’s word as vital to her spiritual wellbeing.

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

Sunday, 29th: Last week inmate Ja’wayne… wrote: “Looking at spending the rest of my life in jail, I attempted to take my life in April and May. I had also been shot five times not long ago. So, I am going to have to say God wants me to stick around for some purpose. I asked Him to forgive me and ever since, I have been studying the Bible every day. I want to return the favor so to speak of Him dying for me. I have helped Brandon… and John… come to know Him, as well. This was great because I was generally all by myself.” (He rededicated his life to the Lord on May 25, 2010.)

            Praise God – He has a life-plan established for all His children! Pray Ja’wayne, Brandon and John are able to study their Bibles and lessons together. Pray they personally obey Christ’s teaching.

Monday, 30th: Written in late August by inmate Juan…: “I write to send you my completed lessons and to give you the names of two friends who want to study. I spoke to them a while back about God and I told them how I was learning. They said they would like to study also. Here are their names and numbers: Jesús… and José… I’m overjoyed when I receive your studies because I know God’s word has come. I get down to studying for myself and to teach others. Thank you for your work for it brings glory to God and salvation to many prisoners.”

            Praise God – He is worthy of all glory and praise for His written word is alive! Pray Juan, Jesús & José are able to study together also. Pray Jesús & José surrender their hearts to the Lord.

Tuesday, 31st: “Brethren, I write to ask you to please pray for me as my court day approaches. I desire to get to know you in person soon. Thanks to the Bible studies and to my Lord Jesus Christ I’ve been strengthened greatly. I am so happy I found my Lord. On my knees before Him I ask, how can I serve You?             Praise God – He seeks the lost and opens the eyes of the blind so they see Him! Pray Daniel continues before the Lord on his knees, seeking to serve Him on a daily basis wherever he is.

Wednesday, 1st: Written in late August by inmate Miguel…: “I have a brother, well, I can call him a friend and I hope I can call him a brother soon and I would like it if you would send him Bible studies also. This way he could study with me. He is Cruz… #…”

            Praise God – He is interested in everyone no matter what their situation may be! Pray Miguel & Cruz do their studies together. Pray Cruz repents of his sin and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thursday, 2nd: Penned on August 23rd by inmate Lana…: “Thank you so much for the stamped envelope. It’s such a help. Now I can return my lessons. What a blessing you all are.”

            Praise God – He enables BSBM to encourage the imprisoned by offering free Bible studies! Pray Lana studies daily and grows spiritually strong as a new believer since April 20, 2010.

Friday, 3rd: “Dear Mr. Evans, I just started with Bible Studies By Mail and you told me that you had studies available for children also. Well, I have 3 children ages 6, 5, and 4 and my wife is Elizabeth. I would really appreciate it if you could send studies to them also. Love in Christ, Jessie…

            Praise God – He instituted family in the Garden of Eden and His word gives highest counsel! Pray Jessie takes God’s word to heart and so becomes a godly father and husband.

Saturday, 4th: “Dear Bible Studies by Mail, Thank you for the lessons! I really enjoy working on them. Please note my new address. I may be going to a new jail or home. Please pray for home! My wife will forward the new lessons to me at a new address. Chris… (He then gave their home address.)

            Praise God – He has the best in mind for all His children! Pray Chris serves his time well by serving the Lord through personal Bible studies and sharing God’s message of salvation with others.

Sunday, 22nd: Written on August 15th: “Mr. Evans, Thank you for allowing me to participate in your studies. This is Brian… and I am writing on behalf of Zachary… who has dyslexia and a problem reading. I ask you to keep his studies simple, as they are now. I am helping Zachary to learn the word of God and now he is a new believer in Jesus Christ. Please send him a self addressed stamped envelope from now on for his next studies.” (They are inmates. Zachary gets easy-to-read lessons.)

            Praise God – His faithful Church is unstoppable! Pray Brian and Zachary continue to have freedom to meet and study together, along with other inmates in their pod who are doing studies.

Monday, 23rd: “Brethren, I have now returned from where they moved me and I thank my Heavenly Father that all went well. I would like to know if you could start sending me my correspondence studies again. I ask you to please pray for me. Hasta pronto, Hector… (He is an inmate.)

            Praise God – His surveillance over His children is unbeatable! Pray Hector follows Christ’s teaching and senses total peace and security in his Heavenly Father’s arms.

Tuesday, 24th: Inmate Jose… returned his first two lessons on July 31, 2010. At that time, he indicated he was not a believer. Then, on August 17th, we received his answer sheets for lessons three through six. At the bottom of the last test page he indicated he now knows he is saved. He then wrote: “I ask you to please send me envelopes because I have no money and my family is far away in Honduras.” (Lessons seven through ten were sent on August 18th with a stamped envelope, so he can return the tests.)

            Praise God – His word is all-powerful! Pray Jose gives significant time to Bible reading and restudying his lessons. Pray he is led to meet a fellow Christian inmate who speaks Spanish.

Wednesday, 25th: “I am very thankful for what you are doing. I like the Bible studies you are sending me. I am indigent and I can’t get any stamps to send my tests back, so can you please send me a stamped envelope. I would very much appreciate it. Thank you, John… (He is an inmate.)

            Praise GodHe owns the cattle on a thousand hills, The wealth in every mine; He owns…! Pray BSBM may continue to offer free Bible studies to John and to 1,000+ others now doing studies.

Thursday, 26th: “Darryl & Joan Evans, I received your pamphlet on What in the World is Satan Doing? and your letter with information. I was really surprised you wrote me and took time to send me information. Thank you for your help and guidance. Jennifer…

            Praise God – He puts evangelism in His children’s hearts and places tools in their hands! Pray Jennifer finds a Bible-teaching church in her town and begins to attend.

Friday, 27th: On August 10th, inmate Laura… returned her answer sheets with a two page letter. She wrote: “Dear Bible Studies By Mail, Enclosed is a list of 26 women in C-Zone who would like to take your Bible study courses. They are hungry for God and need to study the word to know who He is.” (Laura began studying in 2007 and she’ll likely complete all the courses this year.)

            Praise God – The Bible is proven to be mankind’s best operations manual! Pray Laura has the freedom and courage to help these 26 new students in her jail pod to do their first two lessons.

Saturday, 28th: “I am writing these few lines to first of all thank God for His mercy and love, that I was allowed to get your address to write you in regards to sending me Bible study courses. I am incarcerated and I have turned my life to Christ. I need help… Jessie…

            Praise God – He is all-knowing, all-present and all-powerful! Pray Jessie receives his first studies without delay and pray he takes heed to Christ’s teaching, following Him closely.

Sunday, 15th: On July 20th, inmate Billy… shared a bit of his testimony: “The most important thing I learned in this course is that life is not all about me, but it is all about Jesus. I was raised by the state and then graduated to bigger and better jails. I was raped over and over as a small boy in a foster home. As I got older, I went to doing and selling drugs. In _____ County Jail, I started doing your Bible studies, which led me to start doing other studies too. Now it seems all my self-seeking has faded away and I’m concerned about my fellow man. I’ve received my GED also, after starting Bible studies by mail. Thank you so much for your help. I want to take the Great Commission to the crack addict, the rejected and raped and beat down. I am going to wrap the love of Jesus around them. There is hope in Jesus. Please pray hard. The devil has a stronghold here. We have no preacher and Christian material is suppressed. But we have the Holy Ghost and stronger is He who is in me than he who is in the world.” (He then signs up these five fellow inmates for studies: Terry, Micah, Willie, David & Josh.)

            Praise God – There is real hope for the whole world in Jesus Christ! Pray Billy, Terry, Micah, Willie, David and Josh are able to spend some time together studying their Bibles and lessons.

Monday, 16th: Karla… wrote: “I am currently not a member of any church because I’m sort of confused… I am praying for God to lead me where He wants me to be, so I can be useful – His will, not mine. Do I have to be baptized again, since I’ve rededicated my life to Jesus this past year?”

            Praise God – He gives personal attention to every believer 24/7! Pray Karla finds a Bible-teaching local church to attend and that she follows God’s leading in regards to helping out there.

Tuesday, 17th: “I just want to thank all the people God has put in your ministry to help others to know the gospel. I hope God continues to bless you in a great way. And I hope also to continue receiving more lessons from you. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Gennys…

            Praise God – He calls His own unto Himself and then He sends them out to do His will! Pray Gennys shares her Bible lessons with fellow inmates and with her family and friends on the outside.

Wednesday, 18th: Sent in by inmate Roger… on August 11th: “Thanks for sending me these lessons to do! I would like for you and many other people to pray for my wife. She has cancer and the doctors say she has about 6 months to live.”

            Praise God – He is the Author and Healer of human life! Pray Roger’s wife cries out to the Lord Jesus for spiritual and physical healing. Pray Roger seeks to serve his wife in a Christ like way.

Thursday, 19th: On August 11th, Philip… signed up online for Bible studies from Malaysia. On the 12th, we forwarded his request to our SLM Singapore office. On August 13th, they wrote the following to Philip and copied BSBM: “Hi Philip, We have just enrolled you in our Bible study by mail. You will receive your lessons very soon. In Christ, Director Lim”

            Praise God – He calls His own to serve Him together around the world! Pray Philip takes God’s word to heart and follows the Lord’s teaching by living out the gospel message among others.

Friday, 20th: “My name is Clifford… I received your name from Evangelical Tract Distributors in Edmonton, Alberta. They gave me your address because I do want to grow in the Lord.”

            Praise God – He gives His children the desires of their heart! Pray Clifford grows in his knowledge of God & His purpose. Pray Clifford’s walk as a believer shows he is a follower of Jesus.

Saturday, 21st: Kevin… enrolls online at 6:32 PM. He wrote: “I would like my wife and me to have the same course. We would love to study together. Thank you.” (Shirley signed up at 6:34 PM.)

            Praise God – He instituted marriage between a man and a woman! Pray Kevin and Shirley find time to do their first lessons this week. Pray they grow closer to God and to one another, as well.

Sunday, 8th: Student Gennys… sent a prayer request: “Pray that God would give me direction. When I am released, I’ll be deported to Honduras and I don’t have any family there except one aunt.”

            Praise God – His word is full of direction for everyone! Pray Gennys commits her life to the Lord and so finds true hope and purpose for her future in Him alone. Pray her family is reunited also.

            Praise God – He enables BSBM to teach His word to many by offering free Bible courses! Pray David and his Christian brothers share God’s truth among other inmates and with their families.

Tuesday, 10th: Inmate Lizette… has not received the Lord Jesus as her Savior. When asked what keeps her from doing so, she wrote: “Nothing keeps me from doing it except me.”

            Praise God – He did the impossible by sending Jesus Christ to die for mankind’s sin! Pray Lizette accepts Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.

Wednesday, 11th: Inmate Cherelle… asked for lessons: “Please help me. I have recently found my way back to God and His word. I know God called me back to Him and by His grace it’s up to me to come to a stronger understanding of His word and a stronger faith. I have never really studied the Bible. I also ask for you to pray for me.”

            Praise God – The Bible is vital to His children’s healthy growth! Pray Cherelle diligently studies her Bible and lessons. Pray she finds other Christian inmates to share with.

Thursday, 12th: “I thank you so much for these Bible lessons. I have learned so much about God and it’s helped me so much. Your friend in Christ, Donna…

            Praise God – He desires to help whoever admits they need help! Pray Donna personally applies Christ’s teaching to every area of her life. Pray she shares Christ with others.

Friday, 13th: “I would really like it if you could send me anything about having a closer relationship with the Lord. I am in jail right now and would like it if you could pray for me, my kids and their father to soon be together again. My name is Grace…, my daughter is Brianna, my son is Felix Jr. and their father is Felix Sr. Please pray all of us open our hearts to the Lord.”

            Praise God – He alone can perform personal, eternal-heart surgery! Pray Grace and her family open their hearts to the Lord. Pray each one follows God’s healing plan based in the Bible.

Saturday, 14th: “Dear Bible Studies By Mail, I am Jason… I have been doing your Bible study courses for a while. My friend Josh… would like to receive free Bible studies also. Thank you so much and God bless you.” (They are inmates.)

            Praise God – He motivates churches and individuals to support BSBM financially! Pray Jason and Josh take advantage of their free time, and study to discover God’s purpose for their future days.

Sunday, 1st: Douglas wrote: “Yes, God is the greatest! I really enjoy every lesson book. They help me to keep on my toes with the Bible and God’s wonderful plans. People make me mad when they say that the world came as a bang and that we came as a monkey or fish.”

            Praise God – His role as Creator is revealed in the Bible and displayed on earth and beyond! Pray Douglas desires to become a spokesman of God’s created and spoken truth to other people.

Monday, 2nd: Inmate Ernesto… wrote: “I came to the United States for the purpose of helping my wife and three children improve their life, so they wouldn’t be short of anything. My family is in Mexico and I have been locked up for a year. I don’t know how they are doing. Please help me.”

            Praise God – He freely offers the lost His Divine-Detour to escape their dead-end route in life! Pray Ernesto lives out his faith in the Lord Jesus through obedience to God’s teaching in his lessons.

Tuesday, 3rd: Upon completing another course, inmate Javier L… wrote: “I loved everything about these lessons. They have helped me to see how wonderful it will be to meet people we’ve helped lead to Christ. Another thing I’m going to love is when Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire.”

            Praise God – He asks His followers to be fishers of men and to use His word as bait! Pray Javier L finds another Christian inmate for times of prayer, Bible study and encouragement.

Wednesday, 4th: “Hola. My name is Juan… I give thanks to God for helping me so much in my life. I have received God’s gift. I surrendered my life to the Lord in June 2009. I didn’t know how to read then and in tears I asked God to forgive me of my sins and to help me to read. At that time, a brother read his Bible out loud to me, so I would hear the word of our Lord Jesus Christ. I started to repeat and pronounce each letter and word. The brother said that when I pray I should open my heart to God and then He will listen and will come into my heart. Since then I have been asking God to help me and He is. I hope you will excuse my hand writing. Please keep sending me the study booklets. I am very grateful.”

            Praise God – His Gospel’s good news grips the soul and anchors it to Jesus for eternity! Pray Juan shares the teaching of his Bible lessons among inmates and with family when God urges him to.

Thursday, 5th: “I am Javier P… When a friend spoke to me of you and your Bible studies I became interested. Please keep sending me these lessons, so I can study and answer the tests. This year I’ll be released and return to Mexico. I want to keep learning the things of God, because they are the most beautiful and important in life.”

            Praise God – He as Creator of life authored the Bible making it mankind’s operational manual! Pray Javier P completes as many courses as possible, desiring to share God’s word with others.

Friday, 6th: Inmate Armando… wrote: “All money does is destroy the family. It’s been 3 ½ years since I last saw my wife and children. Please pray for me. When I try to read and study the Bible I get sleepy and lay down. I need help.”

            Praise God – He offers His assistance because mankind’s battle isn’t against flesh and blood! Pray Armando completely surrenders his current situation into the Lord’s hand and asks Him for help.

Saturday, 7th: Janet… signed up for lessons at www.bsbm.org. She commented: “I want to understand the Bible in more detail. That is why I am requesting Bible studies at home. Thank you.”

            Praise God – He encourages His children to share Christ and to see the impossible happen! Pray Janet studies God’s word diligently and uses her God-given talent to share Christ with others.

Sunday, 25th: “Hola brethren of Bible Studies, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to study your Bible courses. Thanks to them, I now understand more of God’s word and I have learned many great truths about Jesus Christ. Today, I give thanks to God for rescuing me from the world where I was wandering.             Praise God – His living word presents Christ the incarnate Word as the one and only Savior! Pray Julio shares God’s truth with his family and fellow inmates, encouraging them to study also.

Monday, 26th: Letter dated 1st of month: “Dear Darryl, I wrote you a month ago, but got no response. I also sent my Bible test. I was just wondering if God really hates me that much or did it get lost in the mail. Well, brother Darryl and staff, please take time to pray for me. I’ve been having some bad days with locked up people wanting to harm me and showing me no respect. I want to have peace of mind. Your friend Jimmy… (The letter never arrived and his 2nd mailing was resent on the 7th.)

            Praise God – He gives infinite mercy and grace to whosoever believeth in Jesus Christ! Pray Jimmy restudies his lesson booklets and their Bible verses while waiting for the next lessons to arrive.

Tuesday, 27th: Inmate Servando… wrote: “Sí. These studies have been very helpful. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and I feel God’s presence when I am studying these courses. I have learned about God’s love and how He gave His Son to die for us and to pay for our sins on the cross. And that…”

            Praise God – The sweet story of Jesus Christ will continue to ring out through eternity! Pray Servando studies his Bible daily and shares God’s story of salvation with his family and friends.

Wednesday, 28th: “I would like it if my 14 year old daughter Jesusa would begin to receive these studies, so that she may know in her youth the great wonders God has prepared for all those who believe in Him.             Praise God – He sent Jesus to give His children victory over their life-problems! Pray Ramón and Jesusa share what they are learning with each other. Pray they follow Christ wholeheartedly.

Thursday, 29th: Hubert… signed up for Bible studies online. In the comments box he wrote: “Help me to learn more about Jesus and please pray for my family and me. Thank you.”

            Praise God – He has enabled the ministry of BSBM to send free Bible lessons for 378 months! Pray Hubert obeys Christ’s teaching and lives out the message of God’s love, beginning with family.

Friday, 30th: “My name is Omar… Right now I am studying my first course, but soon I will be released, Lord willing. When I get out I will be going to Houston and I’ll write to give you my new address, so I can continue to study and receive my diploma. One day, I hope to share with my children how God has turned this horrible thing into something good causing me to draw near to Him.”

            Praise God – He does the impossible turning the direst situation into the most delightful. Pray Omar finds other believers to study with and that he grows strong spiritually before being released.

Saturday, 31st: “Several months ago, I was receiving lessons and for some reason they just stopped coming. Maybe I overlooked a lesson. Tell me what to do in order to get them started again.             Praise God – His word is mankind’s operational manual for blessed living! Pray Barbara begins to get visits from a friendly neighbor and that they study together.

Sunday, 18th: “Hola: My name is Marcus… I would like it if you would send me Christian literature. I am a new Christian and I would like to know more about our Heavenly Father. Gracias”

            Praise God – His arms are open wide; His family is growing in numbers and strength! Pray Marcus begins each day by reading his Bible and restudying his lessons, seeking God’s guidance.

Monday, 19th: “I want to thank you with all my heart for giving me the opportunity to learn from God’s word. I desire to learn and to change my life. It’s never too late. I don’t know how much time I have left to live but I want to repent of all my sin and give myself to God. I ask you to pray for me and for my family. I haven’t seen them for 17 years.             Praise God – He meets all deadlines in the lives of His surrendered ones! Pray Marco keeps his life in tune to God’s frequency, the Bible. Pray he can begin communicating with his family again.

Tuesday, 20th: His next lessons were mailed on the 22nd but came back untouched on the 4th marked RTS (Return To Sender). Then on the 7th, a letter arrived from his friend: “My brother Billy… from the _______ County Jail has been doing Bible studies through the mail with you. He has been moved to another jail. Please note his change of address.”

            Praise God – His Church extends continents, countries, cities and jailhouses! Pray Billy meets Christian friends in his new facility and pray he encourages other inmates to study Bible lessons.

Wednesday, 21st: “My name is Romulo… It gives me pleasure to write you as my Christian family because I feel happy to have Jesus Christ as my Savior. I have been sentenced to a second year in jail and the reason for this letter is to ask you to pray for me and my family. I am very sad because I’m at the point of losing my wife and son. I have faith in Jesus Christ and I know I’ll move ahead with God’s strength but it is sad being behind these four walls. I feel down hearted, discouraged and helpless but I have learned from the Bible that praying to God alleviates all the pain one suffers. God is my blessing. He always blesses me.”

Wednesday, 14th: “Hi brothers and sisters, please forgive the bother. My name is Benito O… I started my studies with you and because of being moved I couldn’t finish them. I completed A COUNTRY CALLED HEAVEN and LOVE, DATING & MARRIAGE. I have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior and I hope in Christ that you can help me with these Bible studies again.”

            Praise God – He goes before, comes behind and holds His hand upon His own (Psalm 139:5)! Pray Benito remains faithful to the Lord in his personal life, in spite of any challenges in the new jail.

            Praise God – His love becomes contagious when Christ is the center of attention! Pray Jonathan sees Jesus Christ as his only hope to live a better life free from his bondage to personal sin.

Friday, 16th: Judy… wrote the following at the end of her study’s test pages: “These lessons are changing my previous thoughts about God. I never really understood His plan for us. God wants us to know we are saved… don’t have to fear or beg or plead with God. God really does love us (me). I had thoughts that God was all about condemning us and punishing us.”

            Praise God – His word is a love-letter to mankind revealing the Way, the Truth and the Life! Pray Judy keeps studying the following lessons & courses. Pray she shares God’s love with others.

Saturday, 17th: After doing the tests, Joanne… wrote: “I am a real sinner trying to overcome drug addiction and severe depression. I live alone and don’t have much of a social life. I need help!”

            Praise God – He gives real hope to everyone who takes hold of Jesus through personal faith! Pray Joanne truly repents of her sin and wholeheartedly believes on Jesus as her Savior and Lord.

Sunday, 4th: Student Sergio… wrote: “I am in a lockdown cell. They say I’m guilty of fighting, but in truth I didn’t fight at all. I don’t know how much time I’ll be in this cell. I would like to ask you to pray for me that I can get out of this problem soon.”

            Praise God – He holds the final gavel deciding all matters for eternity! Pray Sergio waits upon the Lord in prayer, during this time of trial. Pray he reads his Bible and re-studies his study booklets.

Monday, 5th: After completing his second course of Bible studies, Harold… wrote: “The most important thing I learned is that no matter what I go through, or what this world may throw at me, Jesus is there to help me through it all. Jesus is all we need forever! Thank you.”

            Praise God – Jesus enables God’s children to do His will with His strength and love! Pray Harold doesn’t hide his testimony of God’s saving grace and mercy among his family and friends.

Thursday, 8th: Being asked if he had accepted Christ as his personal Savior before this study, inmate Manuel… responded: “I received Jesus Christ as my Savior about 3 months ago, here in the Bible class that they give.”

            Praise God – He has called His children to serve Him together with one another as one body! Pray we His children never ‘boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ’ (Galatians 6:14).

Friday, 9th: After completing his second course of Bible studies, inmate Ever… shared: “God has filled me with so many blessings in a thousand ways. I want to share something with you. I decided to receive Jesus Christ as my only God and Savior. I used to be in gangs but I’ve made the decision to do God’s will. I am in a place where daily I see gang people who could hurt me at any time. But I am not concerned about it because I know Jesus Christ is with me. The word of God says he who tries to save his life will lose it, but he who gives his life to God will be saved. Pray for me.”

            Praise God – His peace surpasses all understanding when His children give Him their life! Pray Ever remains faithful to God in his speech and actions among the gang people on the inside.

Saturday, 10th: Studying TEEN TALK 2, 14 year old Juan… wrote about his favorite article ‘How To Be A Hero With Girls’: “It speaks of many things that I think are true and it will help me when speaking with a girl. For example, it speaks of having a lot of respect which I find real important.”

            Praise God – By sending His Only Begotten Son, He showed how much He values everyone on planet earth! Pray Juan encourages friends to study this ministry’s Bible-based courses for youth.

            Praise God – His Family is growing numerically around the world! Pray Angel and his family follow Christ’s teaching & find a Bible-teaching church in Cd. Juárez, the most dangerous city in N.A.

Monday, 28th: “Bible Studies By Mail: I love this program. It has helped me in so many ways. The address I’m at is not where I’ll be. And the problem is I don’t know where I’ll be till I get there. Tuesday, 29th: When asked at the end of his first lesson, ‘Have you received Jesus Christ as your Savior?’ and ‘When?’, 22 year old inmate Oscar… wrote: “Sí, Right now I receive Him.”

            Praise God – He hears and responds to every repentant believer’s cry for salvation! Pray Oscar studies God’s word diligently and shares his faith with fellow inmates, friends and his family.

Wednesday, 30th: ‘What is the most important thing you have learned in this lesson?’ “To walk by faith and not by sight and to always have joy in my life. I can relate to the feeling I get when things are not joyful but troublesome and when I am so happy I can continually thank the Lord Jesus all day and all night (never ending happiness). Thursday, 1st: Inmate Charles… wrote; “I have a question. I notice there were no animal sacrifices in the New Testament. When did these practices stop and why? Thank you for your time and care for us who are incarcerated.”

            Praise God – His written word filled with facts provides solid ground for building faith! Pray Charles earnestly studies his Bible and lessons, searching God’s word to answer any questions.

Friday, 2nd: “My name is Juan… I have been waiting for my next studies for some time now and I would like to know if they’ve been sent already or if maybe they got lost. I hope to hear news pronto.” (His lessons were sent April 5th & resent May 27th, the day we received this note. We’re still waiting for his tests.)

            Praise God – His precious, living word meets our God given hunger and thirst for life! Pray Juan receives his studies. Pray the obstruction to Bible study mailings for many inmates is removed.

Saturday, 3rd: Mary… wrote the following at the end of her last study sheet: “Please pray for my great-nephew Elijah. He is 3 years and 9 months old and has been diagnosed with Noonan Syndrome which could cause him problems through his life. Pray for him and his family.”

            Praise God – He encourages His children to pray about every thing and worry about nothing! Pray Elijah’s family meets with God’s people in their home town to pray for his complete healing.

Monday, 21st: Inmate David… wrote: “Each lesson we do gives us more understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ. And for me, this is the best. It helps us to draw closer to Him, as He wants, so we may have eternal life.” (He accepted Christ as his Savior while doing his first study in January 2010.)

            Praise God – His sown word faithfully accomplishes His purpose! Pray David sees the importance of daily personal Bible study time using his Bible correspondence courses.

            Praise God – He has enabled BSBM to send out 24,000+ Bible lessons since January 1st! Pray Perry and our 1,500+ other students never take God’s love for granted in spite of their situation.

            Praise God – His word clearly maps the one and only secure route to Heaven, Jesus Christ! Pray Juan spends time rereading his study booklets when waiting for the next lessons to arrive.

Saturday, 26th: “Dear brother Darryl Evans, My name is Isidro… The reason I am writing is to thank all of you for the support and help you have given me with this course I just finished LOVE, DATING & MARRIAGE. The study has caused me to think about my past and how it could have been different if I would have had this course 10 or 11 years ago. My wife now has another man. In my blindness, I didn’t know my role as her husband. I have made many mistakes. I’ve been in prison and my life hasn’t been good. I always lived confused. I beg you brethren for guidance because now that I’m all alone I desire to prepare myself to become a better person, better friend, better father and better brother. All this is in my heart and it’s my goal. I know that by having Jesus in my heart as my Savior, I will be able to do it. Every day we have Bible studies here in prison and it helps me a lot.”

            Praise God – He seeks the lost and the wayward because He truly values His Harvest! Pray Isidro studies & applies God’s word each day, so he may reach the goal God has placed in his heart.

            Praise God – He offers real hope to everyone who recognizes their hopeless state! Pray Ernesto and Magdalena cry out to the Lord for help and seek His word for counsel and direction.

Monday, 14th: “I am still here in _____ County Detention Center. I thought I was going home after I went to court and that’s why I gave you my mom’s address. Anyway, until further notice I am still here in jail, so send my next studies here. Can you send more slips to sign up other people for Bible studies? They ask about it and I said I would write.             Praise God – He gives life-purpose to His children wherever they may be! Pray Laura and her cellmates study God’s word together. Pray Laura finds a Bible-teaching church after being released.

Tuesday, 15th: Inmate Jason… has been studying for a year. When asked in his last study if he was a Christian, he wrote: “No, I am not a Christian. I am a Muslim. Thank you for these studies. Please keep them coming. Maybe these lessons will help to change my mind. Pray for me.”

            Praise God – His word is powerful, always accomplishing His will and bringing Him glory! Pray Jason sees and accepts Jesus as the way, the truth and the life, while studying his lessons this week.

Wednesday, 16th: “Dear Bible Studies By Mail, I would like to receive a Bible school course by mail. My name is Joaquin… My address is ____ County Jail P.O. Box ___ ____, CA. My ID # is ___. Also, if you have any literature about Jesus Christ, I would like to receive it.”

            Praise God – He enables this ministry to send free Bible studies to whoever asks! Pray Joaquin diligently studies lesson 1 WHO IS JESUS CHRIST in his first booklet. It was mailed a week ago.

Thursday, 17th: After completing a course, inmate Pablo… shares how it’s blessed him: “It has been a great blessing, because it’s been my spiritual food and Christ has been my fortress during hard and difficult times. I have received Christ as my Savior and the best of all is that He lives in me and I now have eternal life. For this I say gracias to God and to you for all you do to send me these study booklets. May God bless you.”

            Praise God – the value of His written word goes beyond mere verbal expression! Pray Pablo shares God’s blessings with his family, friends and fellow inmates, inviting them to study lessons also.

Friday, 18th: This month Haile… called again. He needed 2 misplaced study booklets to be resent. He began studying in Eritrea in ‘06. Then after persecution for his faith & being placed in prison camp, he escaped in ‘08. Traveling by foot & boat, he arrived to the US in early 2009. (Name’s been changed.)

            Praise God – He sees, hears, feels and attends to the need of His children worldwide! Pray Henok follows Christ’s teaching. Pray our Eritrean brethren are encouraged. (25 are enrolled for studies.)

            Praise God – He causes many lost and wayward who are seeking Him to contact BSBM! Pray Marco has received his first two lessons. Pray he takes the steps of repentance and faith in Jesus.

Monday, 7th: Completing a course, inmate Kim… wrote: “The most important thing I learned in this course is that in spite of my past sins and disobedience, I have a High Priest and Advocate in Jesus Christ. I can and will be forgiven when I believe and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I will have eternal life. God’s word is truth and by Christ’s one-time bodily sacrifice we are washed in the blood of the Lamb. God sanctifies us by Christ’s sacrifice and we are justified.”

            Praise God – He instructs His disciples using the Bible Textbook & the Holy Spirit Teacher! Pray Kim lives out God’s teaching in practical ways among fellow inmates and when writing family.

Tuesday, 8th: Ex-inmate Rosio… wrote: “Just writing to let you know that everything went fine in court, thanks to God. I have another court tomorrow, but I feel everything will be fine. Also I wanted to thank you for your support while in jail. I have learned a lot with the Bible studies and I would like my daughters and son to also start some Bible studies. Well, thank you very much for your help. I could say that it has been a blessing for me and my family.” (The son is 14 & daughters are 10, 9 & 5.)

            Praise God – He can turn difficult sin-circumstances into blessings for Jesus’ followers! Pray Rosio and her 4 children do their studies together. Pray they find a Bible-teaching church to attend.

Wednesday, 9th: “When I started doing your studies, I was serving time in ______ County Jail. Now by the grace of God I’m home with my family and I would love to continue doing this Bible course because it would help me to know more of God’s word on how a born again Christian is to be. My new walk with God has erased my past. A new child in Christ, Brandy…

            Praise God – He calls His Church to pray for “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few”! Pray Carlos surrenders his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ while studying his first two Bible lessons.

Friday, 11th: Inmate Heather… shared: “I have always known about Christ, but I never had Him in my heart. I renewed my faith this year in January and ever since I’ve been on fire for the Lord.”

            Praise God – The Bible teaches all repentant sinners how to be born again by the Holy Spirit! Pray Heather shares God’s salvation with her church-going family. Pray she studies diligently.
